Due to COVID-19, 2020 is being a turbulent time in the world and people are finding it increasingly difficult to progress. It is logical, but at the same time, it is essential that ideas and the desire to help can flourish in times like the one we are living.

For this reason, in terms of motivation and ideas that you or your group of friends might have, we propose three alternatives in the short and medium term: seek and join an organization that gives answers similar to those you have in mind; develop and launch a solid project with immediate response; or create an NGO.

Find and join an organization

The first is the simplest and most immediate, but just as useful. As original as the ideology you have in mind may seem, it is difficult to think that anyone has developed something similar before. This action serves to respond to that motivation that has been mentioned and to directly help people. On the other hand, if you want to go ahead with the idea and develop it further, it is useful to study the situation and learn how to work in the chosen field. At the end of the day, everything can be learned and it will surely help us in the future.

It is recommended to start with NGO search platforms or the coordinator’s directories to find and contact NGOs. There is a national coordinator (Entidades Coordinadora ONGD España), but each Autonomous Community will have its own organization of NGOs.

Prepare and launch a project or social initiative

It turns out that the search was unsuccessful and nothing similar to what you had in mind was found. There is also no time to establish a solid organization to work around the problem we want to resolve. A good idea is to organize and carry out an intervention and give an immediate response (as the volunteer networks do in the distribution of food, caring for people, etc. in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic). However, as the project continues and takes hold, it will require further elaboration.

Create an NGO

Finally, there is the option of creating an organization that can implement the idea you have in mind. Without a doubt, this action is the one that requires the most time.
